And then access a given file? f you have been using a computer for any length of time, you will probably have become accustomed to accessing your files with a traditional folder management system in Windows or OS X. You create, or download files, and then store them on your desktop or in a folder somewhere so that you can get to them when you need them. However things are not quite as simple on an iPad tablet. At least, not at first. Where are the Files Stored on my iPad? Apple takes a different approach from what you're used to on a computer. The iPad has no visible file structure, and any files that you have are really only accessible through a compatible app. So, if you create a file on your iPad, it will really only be immediately accessible from the app that you created it with or an app that you send the file to. Can you help me? If you're using Windows, you can control a variety of settings for the kids. First go either to the Start Menu in Windows 7 or the search function on the Windows 8 Charms Bar and start typing "Parental." Windows 7 should show you Parental Controls while Windows 8 will bring up Family Safety. You'll be give the option to start a Windows Live Family Safety Account. This is a free service. You will have to log in with a Windows Live ID or create a Windows Live account. I'm not going to walk you step-by-step through the entire process as the set-up process for your family account does that pretty effectively. Planwise Another big resolution people have at the beginning of the year is to save money, travel more, or make big purchases. I'm included in that. I want to start saving for a trip to Europe when I graduate next year as a reward for all my hard work. But I have to balance that with also saving for the down payment for our next lease vehicle. To do this, I need help keeping track of everything. And while Mint is awesome. It's not really working for me, because I have to micromanage a lot of it because my cards aren't supported yet. What I really love is you can turn plans on and off. So say we have a vet emergency, I can add that and turn the trip off. Once you've made a plan, you'll need to save it.
