Diane from England writes: I have upgraded my new laptop to Windows 8.1. My question is do I still need to run a backup for my documents and photos on an external hard drive eg. a flash drive as I used to do on my previous laptop using with Vista or can I use the cloud drive as installed with Windows upgrade to 8.1. for this purpose. Diane, you can certainly use your OneDrive (the new name for SkyDrive) for backup purposes as long as you have enough room there. In fact, you can choose to save your photos and documents to the OneDrive by default and also keep copies available on your PC. Go to PC Settings Then select SkyDrive Turn Save documents to SkyDrive by default on. (It hasn't been updated to say OneDrive, but SkyDrive and OneDrive are the same thing) When you save a new document, it will go to the OneDrive/SkyDrive by default. You can always choose to switch the location to your PC. You can also right click on any file in the SkyDrive/OneDrive and choose to have a copy of the contents downloaded to your PC so that the information is available when you are offline. It is like a university course in itself if followed daily. Thanks Ed! First of all Ed, why do want to connect your computer? If it's for playing videos or using other Internet apps, your Smart TV may already permit you to do that without the work of attaching your computer. The Samsung app store offers a variety of free and paid apps. You can even browse the Internet using your TV. This happens when our friends click "like" or "comment" automatically, their friends would see our posts too. Unfortunately, we cannot change this setting by ourselves because Facebook has configured it that way, PLEASE place your mouse over my name above (DO NOT CLICK), a window will appear, now move the mouse on FRIENDS (also without clicking) then down to "Settings", click here and a list will appear. REMOVE the CHECK on LIFE EVENTS" and COMMENTS & LIKES. By doing this, my activity among my friends and family will no longer become public. Now copy and past this on your wall. Once I see this posted on your page, I will do the same." Well, this isn't accurate and really doesn't have anything to do with Graph Search. Graph Search is just another function on Facebook, it doesn't change any of your privacy settings. You still have the same control over who sees what your post that you had before Graph Search. Also, those instructions don't affect who sees your posts, only whether or not you see notifications. You're just blocking updates from your friends. NASA Sounds Today's site offers up a bevy of sounds from historic and current NASA missions! Navigation is easy! There are two introductory paragraphs you can read, and then you scroll down and all the sounds are right there waiting for you. The important thing to note is that the M4R files have to be downloaded and played in iTunes. Whereas the MP3 files can be opened in your browser and Android devices. The sounds fall into the following categories: Shuttle and Station, Discovery, Apollo and Mercury, Missions, Beeps and Bytes, and Sounds of the Future.
